This paper is about the technology and effects of CATV. Nowadays CATV is prevailing here and there unlawfully. CATV is consist of headend, distribution system, home terminal. Headend is a receiving television station and also sending television signals not only reguler broadcasting signals but also it’s own-produced signals. Distribution system is divided main trunk line, trunk line, bridging line, feeder line, drop line. Home terminal equipments are keyboard, adaptor, connectors, modems. The effects of CATV are very diverse. First, CATV is a local medium and projects local specialty. Second, CATV programs are adjusted for every person’s needs.
